Zoe Stangoe from The James Young High School, our West Lothian Student of the Year, shares how her internship at ClickNetherfield, where she was supervised by Elaine, has helped her prepare for the world of work.
I think that every student will agree with me when I say that being able to secure a paid internship is a crucial step in building your future. With the Career Ready programme, a paid internship and professional mentoring are guaranteed, so you get the opportunity to experience the working world and develop the key skills you’ll need in the workplace.
Before my internship I was unsure and lacking confidence for my future, but my time at Click Netherfield has made me much more confident and excited for what my future holds.
Everyone I worked with at ClickNetherfield was really welcoming and supportive. Whenever I had a question or needed a bit of support, they were more than happy to help me. I think the most important things I learnt during my time at ClickNetherfield was how to communicate professionally with colleagues and how to work effectively as part of a team.
If you’re thinking of starting the Career Ready programme, then my advice to you is to GO FOR IT! If you’re unsure about what you want to do in the future, Career Ready will help you to explore the career, apprenticeship, and higher education options available to you.
