Career Academies UK to launch new name and look

Career Academies UK has announced it will be changing its name to ‘Career Ready’ as part of a re-brand in 2015.

Following extensive research in partnership with key supporter, Santander, and feedback from stakeholders across the UK, the organisation has chosen the shorter name to better reflect what it does and stop the current confusion with academy schools.

Anne Spackman, Executive Director of Career Academies UK, said: “During recent interviews with our stakeholders we found that nearly 70% were in favour of us updating our image and one of the main comments was that our name does not reflect who we are or what we do. Career Ready is shorter and simpler and does just that.”

The new name and look will be rolled out across the organisation over the next few months, with Career Ready officially launching in Summer 2015 to coincide with the new academic year.

Anne Spackman continued: “We are at a turning point as an organisation. In Scotland we continue to go from strength-to-strength and from August next year there will be around 1,000 Scottish students on the programme. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland we are launching an improved programme from September 2015 and our partnership with the National Careers Service to run the Let’s Do Business roadshows will really help to put us on the map. It is important that our name and look are updated to reflect and build on these successes.”
