Career Ready mentors and students network at London event

In May, over 80 mentors and students gathered in London to take part in an event designed to encourage networking as part of the Career Ready programme.

The evening, hosted by law firm Clifford Chance, saw over 80 mentors and students meet to discuss their experiences on the programme so far, celebrate success and build contacts with other mentors and students.

The event was the third in a series of networking events in London. The first was hosted at The Photographers Gallery, sponsored by Deutsche Boerse, and the second at Freshfields Bruckhouse Deringer.

Cathy Jones from Clifford Chance spoke at the event to celebrate the work of Career Ready and explain why Clifford Chance supports the charity. Speeches also came from Steve Malde, one of Career Ready’s most experienced mentors and Phoebe Reith from London Business School and runner up in the mentor of the year award for London and the South East.

Aimi Driver, Career Ready Lead Manager for London and the South East, said: “It’s clear mentors play an integral part in a Career Ready student’s development.”

“The evening was a chance for mentors to share their experience with others and help develop their student’s confidence, ready for their internship.

“There was a buzz in the room with excited students and mentors, looking for the next person they could network with and find out more about. I look forward to seeing how these students develop throughout their internship.”
