Career Ready has been awarded the Education 2 Employment Honorary Award, in recognition for the charity’s commitment to outstanding careers education, information, advice and guidance for students around the UK.
The award, provided by the Onslow Trust, is given to organisations that help students to develop professional values whilst still in education, and who offer high quality, impartial careers guidance to young people.
Career Ready was specifically awarded for our work with STEM industries in Cambridge, working closely with partner AstraZeneca to deliver exceptional employability advice to students in the area.
Danielle Pilcher, Chief Executive at The Onslow Trust said: “We are delighted to bestow this award on Career Ready, after they received a unanimous vote at our Executive Council meeting earlier this month
“The accreditation is an acknowledgement of the charity’s dedication to youth development and the important role they play in both the local community and national society.”
The charity will become an accrediting body later this year and will be able to assess and award the Education 2 Employment Accreditation to schools and colleges.
Sian Hiskey, Career Ready Regional Manager for Cambridge & Peterborough, said:
“I am delighted that Career Ready and the Cambridge programme have been recognised for our work. It’s a fantastic achievement and really demonstrates our strength in supporting young people to successfully enter into the working world.”
Career Ready will receive two certificates, one for its work in Cambridge and one in recognition for the work they do nationally.
