Career Ready shortlisted in first Developing the Young Workforce fund

Career Ready has been shortlisted for the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Glasgow Opportunity Fund. The next stage is a public vote – the charity with the most votes increases their chance of being awarded the funding.

If successful, we will use this funding to develop and produce the key resources needed to ensure Glasgow students and employers have a successful four week internship in summer 2017.

Anne Wexelstein, Career Ready Director for Scotland, said:

“We know what an incredible impact the four week paid internship can have on our students – it gives them the opportunity to put the skills they have learned into practice and complete real work for an employer, while gaining the attitudes and confidence they need when they leave school. In return, our employer supporters benefit from fresh insights from digitally minded young people, and additional resource for their work.

“This timely funding from DYW Glasgow would cover the costs of the key resources we produce to help both students and their supervisors to gain the most from the experience. That’s why we’re urging all our supporters, across the UK, to get behind Career Ready and vote for us.”
