Coleg Cambria students tour pharmaceutical giant

Career Ready students from Coleg Cambria in North East Wales were treated to a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Wockhardt, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the UK, last week. The event, held to launch the new mentor relationships, included a tour of the state of the art production facilities where many everyday medicines are made.

The first year students were then given the opportunity to meet their mentors, from a variety of local businesses, for the first time, and begin the all important mentor relationship.

Steve Bridge, the North West Regional Manager for Career Ready, said: "This was a really good, aspirational event for the students. Mentoring is one of the key pillars of our programme and the feedback we receive from students is that mentors play a crucial role in developing their confidence, employability skills and giving them the advice they need to be able to make informed decisions about their future."
