JP Morgan volunteer named Mentor of the Year 2015

Neha Mehta was recently selected as London and the South East Mentor of the Year 2015 for outstanding commitment to the Career Ready programme.

Neha, an associate Business Development Manager at JP Morgan, is mentor to student Shah Gul from Redbridge College in Essex. Shah is the first student Neha has mentored.

Neha was given the award at the London and the South East graduation ceremony on Tuesday 12 May.

Neha said: “Being a new mentor with Career Ready has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience. I have been inspired by the talented students and fellow mentors I have met.

“I have been so impressed by the motivated tutors at Redbridge College and I am incredibly proud of my mentee. In such a short time I have seen Shah turn from a bright but shy student to a confident and eager professional!

“I look forwarding continuing my relationship with Shah and extending my relationship with Career Ready.”

As a testimony to the transformation that Shah has undergone on the Career Ready programme, she spoke confidently at the London graduation ceremony about her experiences as a mentee.

Shah said: “Neha has been a real support for me throughout my two year journey with Career Ready.

“She was never too tired to answer my call or reply to my text. I’m blessed that she was my mentor as I know that no one could have supported me as well as she did in every aspect of my professional, educational and personal life.

“There aren’t enough words to describe how thankful I am to her for her time and commitment that she has shown throughout this relationship.”
