On Friday 11 March, international technology, media and telecoms law firm Olswang and national charity Career Ready jointly hosted London female students at their annual International Women’s Day event, which seeks to inspire young women by providing practical career advice from some of the country's leading female business women.
“The role of women in business is improving, but there is still work to be done, and much of this starts with education and access to professional work experiences,” said Olswang Head of Corporate Responsibility Linda Zell. “We have amazing women here at Olswang, and we are proud to work with a number of incredible women as clients, suppliers and in the community. This event is an opportunity for us to showcase female trailblazers, who we hope will inspire the next generation of women to climb the career ladder all the way to the top."
At this year’s sixth annual event entitled ‘Masterclass: make connections, get ahead!’, more than 70 Career Ready students from schools across London gathered at Olswang’s London office to hear career tips from female leaders at an array of well-known companies and organisations, including:

You witness that ‘this could be me’ moment.”
Olswang Partner and Head of Trade Marks Sarah Wright said: “I’m delighted have again hosted this fantastic International Women’s Day event that allows female business leaders the chance to really lead by example. I’m delighted to have been joined by 13 talented women to share their own experiences and inspire this group of girls to aim high and invest in their careers now. I have personally witnessed the power of networking in my own career, and I am glad to have marked this occasion by sharing some of my own insight with our future female business leaders and learning something from them in return.”
