Think Logistics shortlisted for Motor Transport Award

Career Ready and Think Logistics have been shortlisted for a Partnership Award in the Motor Transport Awards 2016, it was announced today.

The awards celebrate outstanding achievement in road freight transport. Career Ready and Think Logistics have been nominated for helping to educate young people about the career pathways within logistics.

Steve Granite, Managing Director of Abbey Logistics and founder of Think Logistics, said: “Being shortlisted for a Motor Transport Award is a mark of the impact that Think Logistics is having on young people across the UK and recognition for the collaborative approach being taken.
 
“Our partnership with Career Ready gives young people an insight into the logistics industry and helps to open their eyes of to a range of job opportunities they may not have considered previously.  Think Logistics is the industry collaborating together and working in partnership to address a common issue.”

The Career Ready and Think Logistics partnership is one of four nominees in the award, sponsored by Bandvulc Group. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday 6 July.

Ian Nichol, Career Ready STEM Development Manager, said: “Working with Think Logistics to deliver the programme is a win-win for young people and for employers – young people get access to a vibrant and exciting industry that opens up a possible career path for them, and employers get access to a pipeline of talented potential future employees. 

"We have ambitious proposals for the programme, with 50 centres planned across the UK by 2018. We are delighted to have been nominated for this award – it’s a mark of the success we have had so far.”
