At Career Ready we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students, volunteers, partners and schools.

Every year we offer a number of awards that recognise individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the programme. Nominations for the 2018 Career Ready awards open on Tuesday 2 January 2018 and the deadline for all nominations is Wednesday 28 February 2018, with the awards ceremony held on 25 April 2018. 

Santander Employability Champion Award

We are very grateful to our strategic partners, Santander, who support our Employability Champion Award - recognising a coordinator in a school or college who has excelled in the running of their Career Ready programme, going above and beyond the requirements of the role to act as an ambassador for employer engagement.

Six regional winners will receive £250 in John Lewis gift vouchers. The overall UK winner will have one-to-one mentoring for a year by an employee from Santander, and will also be given £5,000 for their centre – to be used in the development of their Career Ready programme.

Leidos Career Ready Student of the Year Award

The Leidos Career Ready Student of the Year Award - formerly the Sir Winfried Bischoff Award - recognises the students who have made the most progress during their Career Ready experience. This does not necessarily mean the best students, or those with the highest academic results, but those who have come furthest on their Career Ready journey.

There will be six regional winners and two overall UK winners.

AstraZeneca STEM Student of the Year Award

The AstraZeneca STEM Student of the Year Award recognises the students who have made the most progress towards a career in a STEM industry during and thanks to the Career Ready programme. We are looking for students who can inspire others to consider STEM careers with their stories.

Winners and runners up will be selected in each of the following categories:

  • Science
  • Technology
  • Engineering

Mentor of the Year Award proudly sponsored by Standard Life Aberdeen

The Mentor of Year Award was piloted for the first time in the London and the South region in 2015 and celebrates the commitment of our business mentors in supporting their students throughout the programme. It is the students who nominate their own mentors.
